My WHY behind the Integrative Health Coaching

You likely want to improve your health and simply feel your best, I mean who doesn't? I do.

Traditional medicine, often referred to as the Western Medicine, primary focuses on treating symptoms rather than addressing the root cause of health issues (asking: why is the symptom there in the first place?). Although, I saw that certain therapies can save lives, I intuitively knew that so can food. And, that was a huge missing piece of the health puzzle.

This is why I was initially drawn to the integrative health and nutrition coaching, despite dedicating 23 years of my life to pharma industry, working on various drugs and therapies for rare disease, cancer, COVID, etc. I intuitively knew that nutrition and lifestyle had a much bigger piece to play.

Integrative Health Coaching is a practice that considers the whole person—mind, body, and spirit— and honors the personal WHY of one's wellbeing.

In this blog I share my WHY behind the Integrative Health Coaching share tips to help you get started, and how it can transform your well-being.

Understanding Integrative Health Coaching

Integrative Health Coaching is a comprehensive approach to well-being that acknowledges the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. Instead of just treating the disease, integrative health coaching focuses on prevention and lifestyle modifications that promote living a fully nourished life.

With this approach, many of my clients discover intuitive practices that improve not only their physical health, but also mental and emotional well-being, food that surround their plates. They begin to feel like themselves again, after just a few coaching sessions and stay motivated to keep living a healthy lifestyle.

A significant aspect of integrative health coaching is the recognition that factors such as stress, emotions, and lifestyle choices contribute to physical health. For example, chronic stress can lead to high blood pressure, metabolic disorders, and other more serious health problems. Thus, as an integrative health and nutrition coach, I focus on stress management techniques such as intuitive movement and intuitive mindset, which can reduce stress and enhance overall health - these practices are intuitive, but often overlooked due to their simplicity. Yet, they're available to all, and free.

Working with a personal Health Coach offers numerous health benefits. Integrative Health Coaching practices are rooted in preventative care and healthy living that foster vitality and promotes lifespan. Daily habits that lead to improved physical health, greater emotional stability, and a stronger sense of purpose.

Here are some reasons why, hire an Integrative Health and Nutrition Coach:

1. Enhanced Physical Health

Integrative health coaching focuses on building healthy lifestyle habits, through nourishment and daily movement that contributes directly to your physical well-being. In my coaching practice, I encourage Intuitive Nourishment and Intuitive Movement, whether it’s yoga or jogging, because physical activity boosts cardiovascular health and enhances fitness. According to the Cleveland Clinic, working with a health and nutrition coach helps individuals make lifestyle changes that improve physical and emotional wellbeing.

2. Improved Mental Well-Being

Mental health is a vital component of wellbeing. Practices such as meditation and mindfulness can reduce anxiety, depression, and stress - you know this, but are you following through?

Working with a personal coach, makes follow through much easier. Research indicates that integrating regular mindfulness practice can decrease symptoms of anxiety and improve emotional regulation.

For example, incorporating intuitive practices like, meditation into your daily routine can create a sense of calm and focus, allowing you to better handle life’s challenges.

I will often check in with my clients, and invite them to join me for a daily meditation 30 day challenge. By doing it alongside them, we build mental wellbeing into a daily routine, that feel effortless. I will encourages my clients to explore other mental wellbeing activities —like painting or gardening— which can serve as an outlet for self-expression, further enhancing their mental well-being.

3. Emotional Balance

Integrative Health Coaching can boost your emotional well-being. Addressing emotional issues is crucial for overall health. My caching modalities include, motivational interviewing and high-milage questions that foster feelings of safety, exploration, and self-care.

A study from the International Journal of Behavioral Medicine revealed that individuals who utilized complementary therapy techniques, including coaching, reported a significant reduction in emotional distress.

When do you feel the most at peace, who is there to provide a safe space for you and encourage you to prioritize self-care and emotional balance?

4. Strengthened Purpose and Connection

Purpose plays a significant role in wellbeing. Coaching clients to connect to their WHY is key to reaching their health goals, and feeling alive. Engaging in activities that foster greater sense of purpose—such as reflection, visualization, future-self journaling or simply encouraging clients to spend more time in nature—can enhance purpose and connection to the greater WHY. Research shows that individuals with a strong sense of purpose often experience improved mental and physical health as well as increased levels of life satisfaction.

Practical Tips - from an Integrative Health Coach

Practical tips that uplevel your wellbeing, in my practice center on intuitive nourishment, intuitive movement, and intuitive flow - that support personal lifestyle and overall wellbeing. It's not about an overhaul of your life, instead it's about building day-to-day practices that align with your wellbeing, help you make progress and reach your goals. The daily routines and practices may evolve over time, but each one is like another tool in your tool box, that can be pulled out to supports you through different seasons of life, and help anchor you back to your WHY.

Imagine your 80 or older self - is she still engaging in these daily practices, are they nourishing and supportive? The daily habits and lifestyle should support your energy and give you a sense of purpose.

Here are some practical tips to help you get started:

1. Create a Daily Routine

Incorporate intuitive daily routine into your life, like setting aside time for meditation in the morning or evening, journaling on coaching prompts provided during your coaching sessions, or simply carrying out actions like prepping a nourishing meal that's in alignment with your hormonal fluctuations or season of life you're currently in, and moving your body via intuitive movement.

The key to building healthy habits is consistency, not perfection, and daily routines hold us accountable and lead to measurable progress.

2. Explore Various Practices

Integrative Health Coaching is not one-size-fits-all. Different practices resonate with different clients. Experiment with intuitive practices, such as intuitive nourishment, intuitive movement, intuitive flow to find what works best for you.

Tune inwards, ask your body what am I feeling intuitively drawn towards in this season of life, is it a seasonal produce - cooking a nourishing meal, or intuitive movement such as surfing or laying on the warm grass in afternoon sunlight. Whatever comes through, honor your intuitive wisdom, and explore various practice until you find the one that resonates. As a coach I take my clients through various practices and help them discover what resonates the most.

Trust you're on your way towards a healthier life, one intuitive practice at a time.

3. Practice Mindfulness

Aim to cultivate mindfulness throughout your daily activities. This can be very simple, by focusing on the present moment, whether it's during a meal, a conversation, or even while walking. Being mindful helps reduce stress and enhances overall awareness.

4. Prioritize Self-Care

Taking time for yourself is essential, and no it's not selfish, it's SELF care. You can't pour out of an empty cup. Prioritize self-care activities that rejuvenate and replenish your energy, such as reading, taking a warm bath, or spending time in nature - embrace intuitive flow and honor the season of life you're in (it's not always summer, sometimes it's winter and time to pause and rest).

5. Seek Support

If you're new to intuitive wellness practices, but intentional about vibrant living, to live a healthy, meaningful and vibrant life, it means investing in support. All successful athletes, professionals, etc have a coach, which is what makes them successful.

Rather than figuring it out on your own, having a proven, manageable and personalized wellness plan, that doesn't require an overhaul of your life, is like having a Fast Pass to your health destination vs taking detours hoping that one day you'll get there.

"I would highly recommend working with Vesna. She is so motivating, supportive, and non-judgmental. After approaching mid-40s, she helped me realize, it may be beneficial to make some changes. My cholesterol dropped 30 points, I'm no longer taking medications for allergies, all with real food. She's encouraged me to eat healthier and helped me learn how to  truly nourish my body. I feel amazing and not as bloated all the time!"
